Our Approach
Step into Sustainability: Experience The Proper Label's Ethical Journey
Hello From our Founders
We're Camille and Sonia Tanoh, co-founders of The Proper Label ®.
Brought up in Paris with African roots, we've directly observed the impact of waste on our planet, particularly in Africa. It's ingrained in our values to be mindful of our actions and their environmental repercussions. After years in the fashion industry, we became acutely aware of the urgent need for change. We celebrate diversity, inclusivity, and sustainability all at once, striving to embody these values in everything we do.
That's why we created The Proper Label ®: to offer stylish, comfortable sneakers made with sustainability in mind. Our mission is to reinvent the sneaker game by creating classics that last longer, reduce waste, and promote sustainability. We hope you share our passion for sustainability and love our sneakers as much as we do.
Sincerely,
Camille and Sonia Tanoh
We empower sustainable choices
We encourage mindful choices by prioritizing personal style over fleeting trends, advocating for quality over quantity—the cornerstone of true sustainability. That's why we meticulously source materials, design timeless pieces, and uphold ethical standards in our operations. Additionally, we actively support our conscious community and eco-friendly initiatives.
We believe in blending style and sustainability.
At The Proper Label, we believe in constant improvement. Unlike fast fashion, which isn't sustainable, we're always refining our products and practices with you and the planet in mind.
Striving for improvement, day by day.
We're proud to be certified by OEKO-TEX and GOTS, two leading organizations in global textiles sustainability. This certification ensures that our products meet stringent standards for environmental and social responsibility throughout the manufacturing process. We embody the spirit of "kaizen," continuously striving for improvement in all aspects of our operations to better serve our customers and the planet.
